What are the recommended web browsers for the CommSec website?

We recommend that you keep your web browser up to date with the latest version. The CommSec website is designed to support the two most recent versions of each browser and cannot guarantee the performance of older browser versions.

General instructions for installing a new web browser

  1. Follow links above for preferred internet browser choice to access download page.
  2. The new browser will be downloaded to your computer.
  3. Once the browser has been downloaded, install it. Sometimes the browser will start the installation process automatically, sometimes it won't. If it doesn't, double-click on the program you've just downloaded.
  4. Usually your new browser will ask you if it should import your favourites. Say YES so that your favourite sites will be available on your new browser.
  5. Then the installation program starts to actually install your new browser. You may be asked to restart your computer. It is recommended that you do so.
  6. When the new browser has been installed you can start surfing the web with it. You may have to log in to sites you visit often.
